Over in London this week we heard a very mischievous 3-year-old moggy by the name of Coningham (after the road he lives on) rescued not once but twice within the space of 24 hours. Conigham ran up a tree (probably to chase birds) only to discover quickly that he could not get back down.
A call was placed with the RSPCA for help and later the London Fire Brigade. The London Fire Brigade arrived shortly and sprayed the fire hose on Coningham in the hope it would encourage him to come back down, but as it turned out, it scared him and he moved closer to the thinner branches. The local council decided they would call their tree specialist and ask for help. They soon came out, kitted up in their harnesses, climbed the tree and rescued Coningham to the delight of his owner.
Coningham must have loved the attention as the next day he ran straight up the same tree and got stuck again. This time The London Fire Brigade were able to rescue him.
Local Cllr said, “We are delighted Coningham is now safe and hope this excitement brings to an end to his moggy misadventures.”
